Nike Rosche

Monday, December 29, 2014

As I've said before, I've been trying to make a conscious effort to wear more comfortable shoes on my feet to restrain my feet from having any issues. Which is actually working out just fine given the fact that sneakers are such a big trend at the moment. If you told me two years ago that I'd be wear sneakers more than flats or boots, I would have laughed at you and walked away. But here I stand. In my new Nike Roshe Runs. They're all black, with a mix of mesh and suede (I sure love suede or leather anything). And the soles are grey, not white. SO in-love. Perfect for an all black outfit.

Flounce

Friday, December 26, 2014

Merry Christmas all! The past few days have been so gorgeous out, you just completely forget that it's you know.. Winter. I have even been able to skip the tights TWO days in a row. Which is probably a good thing since I know for a fact there is at least two holes in every pair of tights I own.. I also was able to wear this new skirt I got for Christmas! This is the first time I've owned a skirt with any type of flounce to it. I usually find them too feminine for my style, but recently I figure it might be fun to add a little something more girly to my outfits. So I asked for a few new things for the holiday. This one is somewhat of a boucle texture in white, burgundy, and blue. Perfect for transitioning through all the seasons. I also got a very similar one in black. It's a quilted texture with leather trimming that I can't wait to wear with a band tee or leather jacket.

Zeppelin

Saturday, December 20, 2014

If anyone was around the city yesterday, you'll know it was absolutely freeeeezing! So, sorry for the stiff photos. We tried hiding under a little brick alleyway which actually ended up being a ginormous wind tunnel. YUP. Grabbed this Led Zeppelin tee back in the spring at Brimfield for barely anything. I'm such a t-shirt hoarder. I got this turquoise ring at Brimfield as well. I love seeing items that people had to search for. Always wondering what's the story behind those pieces. Hmmm.

Stay at home gypsy

Wednesday, December 17, 2014

I've said it before and I'll say it again. I love graphic tees. I want to only wear t-shirts everyday for the rest of my life. Kidding... kinda. If you haven't browsed the endless amount of amazing graphic tees from Buy Me Brunch, you have to. Right now. GO! I got this t-shirt a while back and bought Nick one at the same time. (His says "bike til' you barf.") They all have such awesome sayings, there's a little something for everyone. Not to mention the fit & fade are just perfect. Today was just another day of dreamin' of being that stay at home gypsy I really want to be. For now, this t-shirt will do.

Jack Alfred

Monday, December 15, 2014

Yesterday my baby brother was Christened. I just wanted to take a moment to boast over how stinkin' cute he looked! He sported the tiniest pair of Converse with his little white suit. It was nice to have a day off but even more nice that I was able to spend it with my family & close friends. It's always a great time when my childhood home is full of good food, amazing people, and great vibes. We even snuck in a hot pink surprise birthday cake for my mom's birthday that is coming up in the next couple weeks.
Events like this are always the hardest for me to find outfits to wear. I'm not really one for getting dressed up. It's been too cold in Boston to whip out a dress and I seem to rip all my tights (I know I'm not the only one with this problem). So my options were kinda limited. I thrifted these Talbot's trousers for $3. I had been looking for a slim-fit trouser for a while and was super excited to find these tweed ones. I topped the outfit with these cobalt wedges that I bought a few years ago to wear on my 21st birthday. The color is seriously amazing and adds the perfect something. Ps, I made this clutch! I sold some items in a craft fair on Saturday and went home afterwards to make myself a bag. I never use anything of mine that I actually make so it's kinda nice. They're all 100% lambskin, lined, with a pop of color on the zippers. Anyone interested in a clutch of their own, can email me at: britnieharlow1@gmail.com // $30 each

Grey Maxi

Saturday, December 13, 2014

A little while back, my neighbor Lisa (Hi Lisa!) mentioned to me that she was interested in seeing how you can wear a maxi skirt/dress even after summer is over. It was the first time I realized that people other than my mom read up on my blog. After perusing through my closet, or for better works, my massive clothing rack, I pulled out this maxi skirt from last year. And decided the best way to counteract the long flowing chiffon, I should pair it with a chunky cropped sweater. I know some people find cropped pieces to be hard to style, but in some cases I think they can work for many different body types. Just give it a try, you might be surprised.

NYC

Tuesday, December 9, 2014

Never met a brick wall I didn't like. After a 3am work trip to NYC and while walking to Penn Station I spotted many walls that were just screaming for some outfit pictures. Lucky for me, Nick is always such a good sport about being my own personal paparazzi. This outfit wasn't one I had really planned. I just threw it on because I knew it matched and was comfortable for a car ride. (Ha!) It was too early in the morning to really care all that much but it worked out better that way. I've shown this Olive & Oak cardigan before but it's become one of my favorite layering pieces, giving a pop of pattern to pretty much any outfit.

Gettin' Cozy

Sunday, December 7, 2014

Sunday mornings are a struggle. Whether you're working, not working.. It's true. This Sunday in particular, there was NO way I was taking my sweatpants off. Lucky for me and everyone else, skinny sweatpants/joggers are one of the biggest trends at the moment. YES, YOU HEARD CORRECT. You can now wear your sweatpants and people (probably) won't assume you just rolled out of bed. Maybe they will. Does it even matter? I paired my joggers with an equally as cozy sweater. This sweater in particular is one of my favorites. Check out those zippers. To complete my look, I grabbed my Wooden Ships Essential Eternity Scarf which I got from Flock Boston.Their knitwear is not only extremely warm & lightweight, but also super soft. Sometimes knits can get scratchy and you will never have that problem with Wooden Ships. Not to mention, the color is just gorgeous. Be sure to grab yourself one. It's getting too chilly to go without it!

Teddy Boy

Friday, December 5, 2014

Check out these sunnies. I mean seriously. These were a gift from my sister for my birthday which was about a month ago. I had been on the lookout for a pair of clear-framed sunnies but had a really hard time finding the right ones. (And I mean a really hard time.) They were either too square in shape or the lenses were too metallic. But these Joah Brown Teddy Boy Sunglasses were exactly what I was looking for all along. (Thanks Kay!) They were the topping on top of my outfit today. I sported Francesca's Collection for the most part. The pants, tank, drapey jacket. All gems that I found while working there. Most of these items are ones that I forget are in my closet. But when I rediscover them, I fall in love with them all over again.
