Humidity

Friday, July 31, 2015

Struck with a heat wave means shapeless dresses that are no where near close to your body. Totally hating this awful heat and humidity. A huge contributor in the lack of blog posts - between that and my new schedule, I have no extra time (better to be busy than bored.) ...And when I do have the time, I don't want to even bother getting dressed to just sweat all day long! Promise to have some seriously great looks coming your way super soon! Til' then, patterned TJ Maxx babydoll dresses are all I'm rockin'.

Jack's 1st Birthday!

Just a few photos from last weekend. Jack's 1st birthday party!

T-shirt Dress.

Saturday, July 18, 2015

I'm a little late on the t-shirt dress bandwagon, but it just took me a few more moments than others to find that perfect one. I scoped this out on Forever 21's site (in white at first) and ordered it on a whim. The fit was so perfect that I had to grab the black before it was gone. After a 14 hour shift at work and a nap, this was all I wanted to wear. Threw on some slip-on sneakers and was ready for an easy Friday.

Bohemian Rhapsody

Wednesday, July 15, 2015

Life is a whirlwind right now and I'm completely loving it. I officially started a new job this week and have been non-stop all week long. Except the evenings! My new schedule makes serious time for things like relaxing and date night dinners. Grabbed a table outside and enjoyed the gorgeous summer weather in this bohemian printed dress which I dressed down with ankle boots and a wool fedora. A little wool in the summer time never really intimidated me in the least. PS, did I mention I got myself a new car? Insert dancing lady in red emoji!

Denim Romper

Monday, July 6, 2015

Denim - one of my favorite types of fabrics. Actually pretty close to my all time favorite fabric, but leather just can't be beat. You can literally wear it as anything, I even saw some chunky heels the other day that honestly, I could totally see myself rockin'. Not only are jeans totally the ultimate piece of your entire wardrobe, but people are getting so creative nowadays. Rompers, dresses, button downs, jackets - everything. I had been searching for a denim romper for a while now and stumbled across this piece at Forever 21. It runs a little larger than I'd like but I don't mind. I couldn't pass it up. I rocked this on the 4th of July. Didn't want to go too crazy for cookouts since everything was pretty low key this weekend (and was amazing that way), so I figured denim is perfect. The all American fabric can't be beat!

Pineapple Pineapple

Saturday, July 4, 2015

Thisssss printttttt. Man, oh man. It's finally 4th of July weekend which means cookouts, pools, fireworks, and obviously wearing something kinda patriotic. Everything sounds good up until the fact that red, white, and blue aren't really my colors. But then Flock got in this gorgeous tank and I  just could not resist. It's so festive while still being able to be worn all summer long! I've already worn it so many times that for a second I thought I was over doing it. But only for a second and then I realized something - you can never really over do it with pineapple prints. Show Me Your Mumu seriously always has the best prints for all the seasons. It was just what I needed for some amazing fireworks on the beach.

Seersucker

Thursday, July 2, 2015

Totally resurrected this top from the bottom of my closet. I've had it since high school but it's a style that seems to transition over the years nicely, even as my style changes. Stripes are a pattern that are always trending - especially in neutral tones like a gunmetal and cream. Oh. And did I mention the scandalous open back? Just another tiny detail that can totally make the difference in an entire piece. A mix of stripes, camo, and fringe make for an unlikely pairing but so complimentary to one another in a bizarre way.
