Roses are red. These walls are blue.

There might not be anything as beautiful and feminine as floral prints. I noticed recently that a floral top was something my closet was lacking. I had been searching high and low on Free People's site since they always have great prints, but ended up stumbling upon this top at Forever 21 when I just happened to pop in for two minutes the other day! I intended on only stopping into Target at the mall for cleaning supplies when I felt compelled to visit Forever 21. This top is seriously timeless, a mix of a somewhat 70's inspired sleeve, a subtle sexy slit in the neckline, and a perfectly painted floral print that gives the perfect amount of girly to grunge ratio when mixed with black denim cut-offs and ankle boots. I can already tell this will remain in my closet for a long time coming. XO

Rainy Sunday

Wednesday, August 26, 2015

Considering the weather in New England typically never cooperates, I miss out on many outfit posts because of it's inconveniences. This look was from this past rainy Sunday when we decided to bring the photo session indoors - even if that means in the kitchen. It's too muggy for anything too heavy but sometimes when it's rainy, you just want to get cozy. I layered a boho flouncy blouse with a fringe short sleeve cardigan. Also, check out these Madewell distressed boyfriend shorts from thrifting in Portland! Loose, relaxed. Just how I like all my outfits.

Vacation 2015

Saturday, August 22, 2015

SO sad to be back from my vacation. Nick and I adventured into Maine and parts of New Hampshire this past week. So many hidden gems that aren't thought of when you first think "vacation." It was first intended to be a road trip - which I guess kinda still was without the whole random places to sleep thing. I'm not really one for camping in a random place for the night. Maybe another time. We were lucky enough to stay with my family who lives just outside Portland, Maine. Filled our days with numerous adventures.
To name just a few, we visited Nubble lighthouse, York Beach's arcade, hit up Old Orchard Beach including the pier, fried oreos, & candy stores, kayaked and antiqued through Scarborough, spent an entire day exploring Portland (so many Bull Moose pit stops!) and the best thrift shopping. Headed to North Conway for pickles and candy from Zeb's, a pit-stop at Diana's Bath, and lots of beer tastings including Allagash Brewery. And like I said, that's just a few of our stops.

PS! Nick brought a GoPro and filmed random adventures from our vacation - feel free to check it out.
Cheers to roads less traveled. XO

Stained Glass.

These pants are the outcome of spur of the moment online shopping. I'm such a sucker. Sometimes I find serious gems, sometimes I don't know what I was thinking but Forever 21 is like a nickel and dime candy store. There's some seriously great product for practically nothing. Other pieces aren't necessarily the best but that's the fun - finding the good stuff. I instantly fell in love with these pants. Sure, the pattern is a little whacky (totally reminds me of a stained glass window without the crazy colors) but they're incredibly comfortable and the perfect flared bell-bottom for me. In the beginning, I paired these pants with a simple white tank, but tested the waters with this vintage tee. Seriously the most comfortable outfit I've worn in a while.

Lazer cut.

Sunday, August 16, 2015

So - I chopped my locks. Seee yahhhh. Needed something new and something that would keep the hair from being so heavy and hot on my back while I worked. Slowly but surely getting used to it. I must say though, it's kinda of weird not having a 'do that takes over my entire outfit post. I think I like it. Got this lazer-cut faux suede skirt from Forever 21 a while back but have yet to wear it given the fact that the length is so strange (especially since I'm so short.) Since midi length is the new desired length of the season, I held onto it and whipped it out today for it's debut. With a little styling, I'm sure this will be my new fall fave.
