Let's get serious for a moment. I'm swapping out these ripped jeans and band tees and trying to pull myself together (for once). Dressed up casual is a breeze when you have Banana Republic to help you out. I'm definitely not super feminine so pairing a wear-to-work style button down, the Riley striped shirt, with chambray shorts is way more my style than a super feminine dress. I absolutely love these shorts - I'm a huge fan of flea markets and sometimes the heat really gets to you during summer. Linens are the perfect lightweights for those flea market days and I know these chino roll-up shorts will seriously come in handy. They're a nice break from the typical cut-offs I would usually opt for. I also think the length is just PERFECT. I can't emphasize that enough. They're long enough to give the vibe of a boyfriend fit, but short enough to not feel like a bermuda short. Cuff them shorter or longer depending on what look you're going for that day. As far as the striped button down goes, it's hard finding the right fit. Banana Republic has impeccable tailoring and this blouse fits like a glove. I typically am too busty for button downs, so as you can see here I left quite a few buttons undone. But both undone and fully buttoned is stylish in its own way. Layering some dainty necklaces is definitely an alternative accessory to a bandana but since I have a hard time looking entirely too normal, I tossed on a shibori tie dye bandana on instead of jewels. Anyone else loving this trend?! With a few buttons undone and sleeves rolled, busty-ness wasn't an issue with this top and I felt a little more comfortable than I imagined. It's definitely a look I don't feel entirely right rocking too frequently, but I can imagine myself wearing it with some super distressed boyfriend jeans and strappy heels. Perfect for a brunch date! Not to mention, leather jackets and button downs are soooo feminine chic so I'll be trying that as well.
Thank you Banana Republic for sponsoring this post! XO
