Union Point Food Truck Rodeo

Tuesday, August 16, 2016

Hey friends! As some local followers may know, this past Friday was the Union Point Food Truck Rodeo. Union Point in Weymouth is the newly re-developed Southfield, and there's a lot of new things happening that is worth checking out. Farmer's Markets (where you'll also catch me selling some leather goods the next few weeks), outdoor movie viewings, and now this! This food truck rodeo isn't the first one they've had, but it was my first time attending (organized by Lola Grace Events). There was live music, games such as can-jam, and soooo much fooooood. For the record, I was totally underprepared. Things you'll need: chairs, picnic blankets, and an empty stomach. I forgot my blanket to picnic on but the weather was surprisingly gorgeous despite the thunderstorm warnings. The food trucks were all different so it gave me the chance to try typical foods I normally wouldn't try. Ice cream trucks, bacon trucks, seafood, brazilian, vietnamese! But the sopappillas  at Papi's Stuffed Sopappallas was my favorite! Other faves: Moyzilla, Trolley Dogs, Sate Vietnamese, and The Sausage Guy. For those who missed out, there's another coming up on September 9th. Maybe we'll run into each other in between recovering from food comas.

#nsale

Naturally, working at Nordstrom I took part in the #nsale - Nordstrom's Anniversary sale. There were a few things I had my eye on but since so many people go coo coo bananas over the sale pieces, most of them sold before I got to them. However, I was able to snatch up this fun flannel vest. I'm pretty sure it's a dress but I decided to unbutton and use it for layering instead. I know I'll be stoked to pull it out for fall with a thermal and ripped jeans for colder days. XO

 Hey hey hey!
This heat stroke is nuts guys! Cut-offs every day for me. Girly off the shoulder tops give a little zest to the typical laid back cut-offs. The top is still flowy so you know there's less tightness, and that means less sweat. YUCK. I imagine this color still being a great piece for the upcoming fall season. Lots of red and orange in the near future for me. Also, can we talk about the layering situation we've got going on? I paired my all time fave necklace, my Sequin zodiac pendant (thanks Kristi Capp!) with a suede/coin choker for a different look. Metals and leathers are always such a good combo. Anyways, lots of things happening but keeping secrets for now... XO

DIY's are totally my fave, and this denim jacket was my most recent project. I saw this phrase online and decided to play with it. The arm patch was one I scouted in Portland Maine this past Spring and have been saving for the perfect moment to iron it onto something so it was perrrrfectttttt. But also kind of perfect for todays post. I'm heading out to Canada this weekend with my best friend Tori and have a three day weekend sooooo see you next Tuesday to my workload. Can't wait for a weekend off with my bff, good music, and a city neither of us have ever explored. XOOOO!

Hey guys, here's a look at an outfit I just really threw together the other day. Kasey needed a buddy for car shopping and I had 20 minutes to get ready so it was kinda a spur of the moment thing. I got this ribbed midi dress back when I was visiting my cousin out in LA. She took me to Santee Alley so naturally I had to shop, shop, shop. Pretty sure this dress was like $9. NINE WHOLE DOLLARS GUYS. I know it might not last forever, but the quality seemed pretty convincing. It was raining and chilly last Sunday so I tossed on this Elizabeth and James leather drapey jacket to cover up. Brown usually isn't a color I lean toward but something about the quality of this jacket, you can't deny wanting to toss it on everyday. I left it unzipped for a more draped, laid back look. XO!
